What is Telehealth?
A Telehealth appointment is a video conference (like FaceTime/Skype) connecting you with our physiotherapist.
You can see and hear each other.
This can be done using a
computer
laptop
iPad
tablet or
smart mobile phone
As long as you have internet connection.
.
What are the benefits of Telehealth?
Flexibility in our ability to provide therapy to clients at home.
Therapists work alongside parents too.
How will we run Telehealth?
Telehealth sessions will be done using Coviu. Coviu is a program that is accessed through your web browser. You will be emailed a link prior to your session which you simply click on in order to join the session. Further details on how to use Coviu can be emailed to parents on request.
What will a Telehealth for kids sessions look like?
Session times will remain the same - for example 1/2 hour or 1 hour session. If your circumstances have changed (i.e. having other children at home or you are now working from home), session times can be somewhat flexible.
New clients will be allocated times that are available when booked with our reception. Or you can book online.
Therapists will be able to watch your child complete tasks and offer advice that parents understand and explain why each activity or exercise is important.
Therapists will be able to demonstrate relevant activities or exercises that you can do with your child at home. They can offer real time advice and feedback on how to help your child complete the activities.
Albany Children's Physio has also developed a number of digital resources including;
hand-outs
videos and
exercise programs which can be accessed by parents to continue therapy at home confidently and safely.
